excuse me miss,
give me your hand
and i shall help you down
from your high
high horse.

no, you're not a princess
no, you're not a bride
and the last time i checked
the queen still wears
her crown.

a tangled mess

a tangled mess of legs and arms
of shorts and sneaks
and sun hats, sun dresses,
red hair. a farmer boy prances
deep in the grasses
between his teeth.
the sun shines thick
across my back
of skin and heat.
with legs so white
and a face so pale
the slightest shadow
leaves a trail
of black across
the ocean.

a day of elegance and eloquence

you're late for tea.

well suited?

black gold and silver dress.
blonde hair.
and makeup along the lines of these?

Sleepless nights. Am I imagining things?

animal testing

don't test an animal.
like a cyrus,
"can't be tamed."
can't be maimed
can't be slayed.
don't test me.
can't impress me.
i can't remember where i've heard all this from
but its chewed up
and spat out
in a reduced, reused, recycled poem.

yeah gurl, i did it.

yes, its true. alligator tears, cried over you.

and yes, i conformed.

a nest (with socks)

oh, my deer,
where has the time gone?
flown the coop,
grew a tree,
will we soon find a nest?
anything without prickles
and the ickles of thorns.
of water drops, leak from the roots
of the tree clouds
branches drenched in blue,
drowning in sky.
is this where we reside?
shall we survive
on nothing but rain?
between our toes
i sniffle my nose
to breathe in the new cocaine.

know what i just realized?

i'm the justine to your whitney.if only you'd have me,
i'll try my heartest,
i swear.

inside out

write me a song
that gnarles my insides
that turns my guts
inside out
with a smile on my face
but a tear stain on my cheek
twist me
wring me
from the inside out.

a mantra of sorts

Let the blue blood in my veins
rain down to the seas
wash away my sins of green
and from that soak-ed green
let purity grow
and innocence blossom
from its roots.
Water ignorance with truth
and grow knowledge;
shower darkness with light
and let the death of the night
bring the warmth of the morn
and stark immortality
with the white of the sun.
Let me breathe with the wind
and my spirit
sway with the swallows
and dance with the deer.
Let my feet fall lightly
upon the grass so bare.
Where sky meets field,
let innocence run free,

run free,

run free.

see the sleeping bunny

sssssssssssssssee the sleeping bunny
til its nearly noon
shall we wake him
with this merry tune?
oh so still
is he ill?
Little bunny
hop, hop, hop.

i'm happy

i need somebody
somebody crazy enough to tell me
I will love you till we
I will love you till we
till we are buried
our bodies, our bodies
our bodies buried close together
cemetery weather,
in the cemetery weather.

cause love is a selfish thing.

I never knew what I would do

If anybody tried to speak your name

I would tear down their house and

I'd burn my way around the brightest memory of your face.

cause love is a selfish thing.
